Where We've Been: In the mid-1970’s, God began to give a burden to several Christian couples for hurting Christian leaders and their families. These Christian leaders had nowhere to go for help in their personal lives, marriages and ministries. In 1989, a group of 70 people gathered to pray and covenant together to begin a ministry to "help heal the wounded leaders of our day." What God gave as a vision, He grew into a reality. He has used Westwood as a powerful healing tool since it's founding in 1989.
Where We're Going: With the increase of ministry professionals and lay leadership experiencing crises, the need for pastoral ministry is greater than ever. God has richly blessed us with the opportunity to headquarter out of our retreat center in Mountain Home, TX. Our retreat center offers cabin-style lodging on just under 50 acres for short or long-term client/guests. Father has also blessed us in the area of staff. Since our humble beginnings He has brought His team together and put them into place for His purpose. We grow wherever we see God go. We have experienced a greater demand for long-term stays and believe that may continue to be the trend. Our Life & Ministry Training piece, The Potter's Institute, is continuing to grow and expand. Our vision is to see that grow to become a full-time ministry training school, which will carry an accredited program for Kingdom leaders. Our international ministry continues to grow as we have made connections in Belize, India, Brazil, Argentina, Asia, and many more.
