| History |
|
In the mid-1970’s, God began to give a
burden to several Christian couples for hurting Christian leaders and
their families. These Christian leaders had nowhere to go for help in
their personal lives, marriages and ministries. In 1989, a group of 70
people gathered to pray and covenanted together to begin a ministry to
"help heal the wounded leaders of our day." What God gave as a
vision, He grew into a reality. He has used Westwood as a powerful healing
tool since it's founding in 1989. |

Vision
|
|
Joining God by coming alongside Christian leaders, their families and
churches to cultivate health, renewal and transformation in the kingdom of God. |
|
|
Mission
|
|
The mission of Westwood is to be used of God
to help heal His "wounded servant-leaders" (Galatians 6:1-2).
Providing sabbatical rest, training and Holy Spirit guided intervention by
godly caregivers can restore health and hope, as well as give extended
years of service in God's Kingdom work. |

Statement of Faith
|
We believe in one God who exists in three
Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in
His sinless life, in His vicarious and atoning death, in His bodily
resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His
personal return to power and glory.
We believe in the free choice of man and that man chooses to sin and fall
short of God’s glory. Only by God’s grace can he be eternally saved
through the regeneration of the Holy Spirit as a result of personal
commitment of faith in Christ’s finished work, and not by any works of
man.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling
the
Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, authoritative, perfect word of
God.
We believe in the resurrection of all mankind.
We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers who have been born in
one body, the body of Christ.
We believe in the priesthood of each believer with Christ as head of the
church.
We believe that through Christ’s wounds all can know His wholeness.
(1 Peter 2:24)
