The ministries of Westwood are funded by
the
contributions of Faith Partners. By giving to
Westwood Ministries, you will be investing in the lives of Christian
leaders throughout the world.
The organization of Westwood Ministries is
prayerfully guided by a Board of Directors committed to the ministry of
helping the hurting. Westwood Ministries is dedicated to good stewardship.
We understand our accountability to God and pledge to invest your gifts
wisely in the healing of the wounded.
WE STRESS THAT THESE GIFTS BE OVER AND
ABOVE ONE’S TITHE TO THE LOCAL CHURCH. All
gifts are tax deductible. Westwood Ministries, founded in 1989, is a tax
exempt, 501(©)( 3) non-profit organization.

Gifts of Real Estate:
Property can be donated outright, placed in trust or retained for use for
life. Before you sell real estate that would result in a sizable capital
gains tax, consider donating property held more than one year–you will
avoid the tax and realize a charitable deduction for the full fair market
value.
Gifts of Life Insurance:
Policies that are paid up may be deductible as gifts for their approximate
replacement value. When Westwood Ministries is named as both owner and
beneficiary on a policy on which you continue to make monthly payments,
you can receive income tax deductions. A new policy on your life naming
Westwood as beneficiary also guarantees a future gift.
Trusts:
Charitable remainder trusts are built with assets you contribute, such as
securities, appreciated property or cash. Once placed in trust, the assets
can be sold (avoiding capital gains tax) and the proceeds reinvested to
produce a higher yield for the donor and/or other beneficiaries. Such an
arrangement can create an immediate income tax deduction.
Gifts of Securities:
Stocks or other investments that you have held for more than one year can
become a substantial gift made at a low net cost to you. You receive a
charitable deduction based on their fair market value on the date of the
gift and avoid all capital gains tax. Many security holdings have a
tremendous level of unrealized gain. If these appreciated securities are
sold, 20% of the gain could be lost to taxation.
Unlike gifts of cash that have already
incurred an income tax, gifts of these appreciated assets avoid the
incurrence of capital gain tax. In addition, you receive an income tax
charitable deduction for the full fair market value of the asset, assuming
you have held it for longer than one year.
Westwood’s Donor Program
is our way of assuring the ministry of Westwood will be perpetuated for
generations to come.

for both you and the ministry of Westwood.
Memorials and Honorariums:
Upon receiving these gifts, a personal card will be sent to the selected
recipient. Your thoughtfulness will benefit both the recipient and
Westwood Ministries. All gifts are tax deductible.
