Dear Friends of Westwood,
Westwood is a very exciting place! We echo Habakkuk's words, Hab.3:2,
...I
stand in awe of your deeds, O Lord... At a recent Thursday evening staff
dinner, we had 39 people. Besides our staff and children of fifteen,
there
was a retired pastor and wife who were in the ministry for 40 years, a
couple who were leaders in camping ministries, and missionaries from four
countries: Poland, Venezuela, Jordan and Guatemala. Also a missionary
family with eight children are staying in the small lodge this month. As
we
stood in a circle holding hands and praying, the awesomeness of what God
is
doing stirred our hearts.
Here is a quote from the missionary with eight children.
"As the president
of a relatively new missions organization whose focus is the closed
Islamic
World, I travel a lot. Needless to say that is a major challenge when I
bring my wife and eight children. (The children are home schooled.)
Finding
housing has been a trial at times and although God's people have been more
than gracious, finding Westwood Ministries Retreat Center has been the
divine providence of God for us!
We have been able to reach the San Antonio, Austin and Houston churches
easily and the staff at Westwood has been more than accommodating. In
addition to having a home environment, the staff at Westwood has become a
'family' away from home.
The horses and animals have provided hours of enjoyment for the children."
They have been able to bring several other members of their growing
organization with them. "We thank the Lord for not only Westwood, but
those
who have been faithful to support this vital ministry."
And we thank you! Only heaven will tell of the eternal benefits of our
partnership in this ministry.
