HEART TO HEART

What great days to live in!  The Lord has given his children a tremendous opportunity to be ‘right in the middle’ of what He is doing in our day.  What a thought, to be chosen to be on the ‘front line’ in a battle that we know the ‘outcome’ of!  Sadly, many believers still have a ‘peace mentality’ of Christianity.  Indeed we try to ‘house in mediocrity’ the ‘One’ who was a ‘radical’ as he walked this earth.  Christ was a revolutionary.  The faith he lived and taught was that of a revolutionary coming against the culture of this fallen world.  C.S. Lewis writes that we “are born in a world at war”. 

 Indeed, Christ brings peace to the heart and peace everlasting.  But, while we live in this fallen world we are called to live “counter-cultural” lives.  Believers must return to the ‘battle mentality’ of the first century Christians.  The battle is not against other humans but against Satan himself.

 “Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities,  against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”    Eph. 6:12

 We are engaged in battle.  Sadly for some believers, who ignore the enemy or the battle, they become an easy target and casualty.  The warrior must realize that he is on the battle front and that the battle requires that he be disciplined, ready to ‘put on the whole armor of God’ and  engage the enemy.  All three are necessary.  The warrior must 1. be disciplined, 2. put on the whole armor of God and 3.  engage the enemy!

I pray for you as a ‘partner in ministry’ that you will ‘be strong in the Lord’ as you battle the enemy.  Pray for me and the staff of Westwood Ministries, that we would daily be strong, put on the whole armor of God and engage the enemy.  Thank you for your prayers and support as we stand together on the front line.  Remember, our Father, the ‘Warrior Lion of Judah’ has won the final battle!
