HEART TO HEART

Dear Friends, 

Greetings to you and all those you hold dear. I pray that this past month, since my last update, has been healthy and spiritually well for you. Life on this little planet is so short that spiritual wellness and wholeness is our ultimate priority for life. Getting caught up on the minor things in life and neglecting the major matters of life is so easy.

A friend and Westwood client recently shared his grief over this fact in his own life. As he walked through divorce and pain he made the comment: “We just got so busy with life and church that we missed the important things---mainly each other. Now our finances are secure and our house is paid off, but there is not a ‘we’ left and no ‘home’ remains to live in the house.” He continued to grieve as he spoke to me over the telephone: “Here I am setting all alone talking to you with no wife left and no home---just a huge house.” This brother will survive and will continue to serve God, but his former preoccupation with the “minor things” overshadowed the primary things in life such as God, personhood, and family. May
we follow the instruction of the author of Hebrews 12:2 as he admonishes us: “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.” This is our surety for focusing on and not neglecting the important things in life.

Each day I thank God for allowing me to be a part of His passion for His people. His passion is so strong for His children that “He came that we could have life.” Conversely, the enemy has come to “steal, kill, and destroy.”

God’s passion is to use you and me to stand fast against the enemy and to bring His life to those leaders who the enemy is trying to steal, kill and destroy. I join God in His passion for His servant leaders. I purpose to take back territory that has been unwittingly, and sometimes willingly, given over to him by leaders and/or their families. I desire to join God in breaking every assignment that the enemy has made against God’s leaders. Enough is enough and the enemy has been given free reign in Christians’ lives for too long. Join me as a prayer warrior as we take back God’s territory of healthy servant leaders.

As I shared last month, I am inviting you to be a part of 50 financial partners that God is raising up to strengthen His Westwood Team.
